The WORST wedding photographs Contest WINNER!!!

So congratulations might now be the right word for winning this contest since it means you had the worst of the worst wedding photographs, but I want to announce that the winners of my first ever contest are Jacqi & Donavan Almond of Santa Rosa, CA!!!

When I heard this story it pretty much secured the Almond’s prize, because there are no worse pictures than NO PICTURES! Thats right, Jacqi and Donavan have NO PROFESSIONAL PICTURES from their wedding. This is not because they hired a friend or someone off of craigslist. They hired a season pro who actually took decent pictures. After their wedding on 07/07/07 the Almond’s wedding images were uploaded to a online viewing site for the couple to see, but that is as close to those pictures as they ever got. The photographer disappeared, took their money and ran!! He never produced prints, or an album, which was paid for in advance by the way! All the couple has is images taken by their guests and to make this story even worse, there are 22 other known couples that this guy bailed on! Now supposedly Jacqi got an email from their “professional photographer” about 5 months ago saying that he was broke and there was nothing he could to.

Well I am going to give Jacqi and Donavan some pictures they can be proud of and hang on their wall!! They will get a 3 hour photo session with me, 2 – 16×24″ wall portraits and the rest of the images on a disc for them to print. Also Flowers By Erica from Calistoga, CA will be providing the couple with a bouquet and boutonniere (as close to exact replicas as we can make) so their images will be as close to “wedding day authentic” as we can get!!!

Stephanie & Karl :: Engaged :: 07.15.10

This session was a little different from most of my other engagements. I talked to Stephanie a few times on the phone but I had never met her or Karl before the day of the engagement session due to them living in Las Vegas. During our shoot we got to know each other very well and I have to say I am VERY excited for their wedding! Karl and Stephanie are so much fun, have great personalities, and are wonderful together! I had a great time meeting and working with these two and the wedding pictures are coming soon.

I dont think you could get a much more perfect day up in the mountains than the day I did this shoot. My day started at 6am with the start of my drive up to the Northstar Resort and it was GORGEOUS the whole way there. Luckily I had shot a wedding there not to long ago so I had ideas of a lot of the places I wanted to shoot.

We started shooting at about 9:30 in the morning and I had found a sweet unfinished parking garage that had some awesome light in it so I began shooting there and then moved into the village. Jenny and Brian had some amazing personality going on! They are so much fun to be around and getting to photograph them is just icing on the cake. Jenny’s daughter Kaylie (sorry if I spelled it wrong) joined us and all about the pictures, she even gave me some pointers. We found some great little spots around the village and then headed down to the golf course to get some more outdoorsy pics to finish off the shoot. I have a couple months to wait until their wedding but Im excited already.

Good looking couple + Not shy 7 year old + Amazing location + lots of chemistry = Happy Photographer!!!
