The WORST wedding photographs Contest WINNER!!!

So congratulations might now be the right word for winning this contest since it means you had the worst of the worst wedding photographs, but I want to announce that the winners of my first ever contest are Jacqi & Donavan Almond of Santa Rosa, CA!!!

When I heard this story it pretty much secured the Almond’s prize, because there are no worse pictures than NO PICTURES! Thats right, Jacqi and Donavan have NO PROFESSIONAL PICTURES from their wedding. This is not because they hired a friend or someone off of craigslist. They hired a season pro who actually took decent pictures. After their wedding on 07/07/07 the Almond’s wedding images were uploaded to a online viewing site for the couple to see, but that is as close to those pictures as they ever got. The photographer disappeared, took their money and ran!! He never produced prints, or an album, which was paid for in advance by the way! All the couple has is images taken by their guests and to make this story even worse, there are 22 other known couples that this guy bailed on! Now supposedly Jacqi got an email from their “professional photographer” about 5 months ago saying that he was broke and there was nothing he could to.

Well I am going to give Jacqi and Donavan some pictures they can be proud of and hang on their wall!! They will get a 3 hour photo session with me, 2 – 16×24″ wall portraits and the rest of the images on a disc for them to print. Also Flowers By Erica from Calistoga, CA will be providing the couple with a bouquet and boutonniere (as close to exact replicas as we can make) so their images will be as close to “wedding day authentic” as we can get!!!

Stay tuned for Jacqi and Donavan’s Winning session images! But in the mean time please look over the images that won them this opportunity!

Kimberly & David :: Married :: 07.31.10

I had never shot a wedding in Yountville, CA before this past weekend. Actually I hadn’t even been in the town since I was a kid. But I have to say it has to be one of my favorite new places to photograph. There is cool stuff everywhere!!! Now it didn’t hurt that I had an AMAZING group of people in front of my camera, but this was just an amazing day for photography in my opinion.

I met Kimberly at a wedding I shot last year for a childhood friend of my wife’s and I was excited about her wedding before I even booked it. Well obviously I did book it and met a great couple in Kimberly & David. Our engagement session over the Memorial Day weekend made me that much more excited and predicted the great images that would come from their wedding. My prediction came true from the moment I showed up to meet the bride before the wedding. Everyone was so happy, and didn’t hide their true selves. I love photographing people when they are being themselves and this wedding was full of those type of people.

I am so happy for Kimberly and David and their families, I love that I have gotten to meet all these great people and hopefully I will be photographing more of their lifes moments in the future!

Enjoy the images!

Also a very big thanks to @Natasha Gaines for coming out and helping shoot this wedding!

Every year at this time…..

For the past 3 years, every August I look over my pricing and evaluate trends and new products to offer my clients. This year is no different. I have found new albums with some sweet options, and will be offering gallery wrap clusters. Now in the past when I review my pricing I have always raised my prices, well this year is going to be different. I am NOT going to raise prices for 2011 wedding photography! Now on top of that, I am going to have a “Sale” on wedding collections for 2011 brides! Book CMC Photography for your 2011 wedding between August 4 and October 4 and receive 10% off any collection AND get a FREE photo guestbook! Go to the Wedding Information page to check out the special pricing!

2010 was a great year! I want to make 2011 just as wonderful!!

Stephanie & Karl :: Married :: 07.24.10

It was only about 10 days before the wedding that I met Stephanie and Karl, but when I got to their wedding it felt like we had known each other for a lot longer. This couple and their families were pure joy to photograph. The atmosphere was full of excitement, you could tell that everyone at this wedding was so happy for this couple and so glad to be part of their big day! From the moment I got to the brides room to the time I left during the tail end of the reception, EVERYONE was smiling. I dont think I saw less than a ear to ear grin on the bride and groom all day. I hope the images I created at the wedding will help everyone understand the greatness of this couple’s relationship and will provide lots of memories for everyone who was at this wonderful wedding!!

Enjoy!

Christine’s Maternity Session :: 07.28.10

Everyone is pregnant, and they are all having BOYS!!! Christine is no exception, she is due with her second child, a boy, pretty much any day now! Unfortunately, her husband is currently deployed in Afghanistan and will miss the birth. So I am going to try and provide him with many pictures of this pregnant wife and when the new little one makes his entrance we will be doing lots of photos that we can send him so he can show off his new son to all his fellow troops overseas! I am honored to help this military family out in this bittersweet time. Thank you Todd for your service!
